  1. Where do I setup an email signature in the new interface?
  2. You can configure an email signature in the Settings – Email Accounts – Signature tab. Signatures from the old MyMail cannot be transferred, you will need to re-enter them in the new MyMail.

  3. How can I transfer my contacts to the new interface?
  4. To transfer contacts from Mymail to the new Mymail intereface, please follow the instructions below:

    1. Go to Old MyMail (https://oldmymail.yorku.ca/)
    2. Click on Address Book
    3. Click on Import / Export
    4. Ensure that under "Export Address Book" section, your address book is selected under "Select the source to export from:". By default your address book is called "My Addressbook".
    5. Click on Export
    6. A pop-up will ask you to save / open the exported file. Select "Save". Note the file name and the location of this file. By default the file is saved in your downloads folder. The location may be different according to your browser and operating system.
    7. Go to the New MyMail(https://mymail.yorku.ca)
    8. Click on Contacts
    9. Click on Import Contacts
    10. Click on browse and locate the file that you exported from MyMail. Select the file and click on Open.
    11. Click on Import to complete the process.

  5. Does my e-mail need to be transferred from the existing MyMail to the new interface?
  6. With the exception of the “Sent mail” folder (explained below), email and folders are always the same on both new and old MyMail systems. So there is no need to transfer messages.

  7. If I delete email on one interface will it also delete it on the other?
  8. Yes.

  9. Where are sent messages stored in the new MyMail?
  10. Sent messages will not automatically appear in the Sent Items folder. This may be different than the folder you are used to since the old MyMail system stores sent messages in a folder of your choice. We recommend that you move your sent mail emails to the sent items folder.

  11. Will I receive email faster on one system versus the other?
  12. No, mail will arrive at the same time on both interfaces.

  13. Can I change the theme / look in the new interface?
  14. Yes, you can select from several pre-configured themes in the new interface themes dropdown in the Settings – Common menu.

  15. How can I mark emails as spam in the new interface?
  16. The Spam button does not integrate with our existing Spam process. Continue to use the existing method for Spam.

  17. How can I add or delete a folder in the new interface?
  18. You can add or delete folders in the Settings – Email Accounts – Manage Folders Tab. Note that deleting non-empty folders is not allowed. To delete such a folder (it has disabled checkbox), delete its contents first.

  19. How do I set the name displayed in messages I send in the new MyMail?
  20. To have your name displayed on emails you send, enter your name in the Settings – Email Accounts – Properties Tab, and click on save when done

  21. I do not see my folders and subfolders. How do I subscribe to them in the New Mymail interface?
  22. To ensure that you can view all your email folders, you will have to subscribe to those folders in the New MyMail interface. To subscribe follow the instructions below:

    In the New MyMail interface:

    1. Click on Settings
    2. Click on Email Accounts tab on the left.
    3. Place a check mark in the box beside the folder(s) of your choice.
    4. Place a check mark in the box beside the "Subscribed".
    5. Click on "Save Changes".

  23. For how long does deleted mail show in trash folder? Can mail be set to deleted - not purged as in the old mymail?
  24. Trash folder is not purged automatically. Mails stay there until user explicitly uses "Empty Trash" tool.

  25. How do users insert foreign-language diacritics (accent marks,punctuation, etc.) into email messages?
  26. There is no special way for entering these symbols in MyMail. It is assumed users type those with keyboard or using some kind of virtual keyboard, like the one Google offers.

  27. How do I check spelling in the New MyMail?
  28. You can use the built in default spell checker in the following browsers - Google Chrome, Mozilla FireFox, Internet Explorer 10

  30. Yes, you can setup an email application to work with MyMail using these instructions.

  31. How do I resume composing saved draft messages?
  32. To resume composition, you can click on the"Drafts" folder on the navigation bar on the left and double click on the saved draft message. Alternatively you can also right click on the saved draft message and click on "Open".
